And if we're being completely honest, I actually PREFER Thorax's new design, colours included, to his old one. Maybe it's just because I like using bright colours in my own drawings, but I didn't think the colour choices were that bad, honestly, and you see a lot of insects in real life and fairies in folklore - the changelings seem to be based off the fair folk - with bright colours like this, so I thought it fits. (Kind of similar to the ridiculous amount of hate I see towards the Student Six online at times, while I personally really like the symbolic reason why they're in the story and I find them to be endearing characters myself.)īut with that said, I do wholly understand, but respectfully disagree, with any criticisms towards the colour schemes they chose. I understand that changes in formula in ANY show may catch people off guard and may take a while to get used to (insert my own personal dark past involving being sceptical and vocal towards Mega Evolutions in Pokémon for a long time ), and I admit that I can see where criticisms towards the end of Cutie Re-Mark are coming from even to this day (it took ME a bit of time to get used to that one but I warmed up to it shortly after Season 6 started, but that's a whole other can of worms I won't get into here), but the vitriol sent towards Alicorn Twilight and the 'Changedlings' seems a tad ridiculous to me because I feel they fit the overarching story really well and they don't come completely out of nowhere - Twilight literally earning her wings and taking her next step towards succeeding Celestia due to the lessons she's learned and the changelings undergoing insectoid metamorphosis due to learning how to share love and shedding their 'Chrysalis' in a manner of speaking - both their own outer shells and their kingdom's outer shells in the form of their oppressive leader. Yeah, I noticed that even three years after To Where and Back Again aired and the Changelings transformed, it seems to be a repeat of the Alicorn Twilight and Cutie Re-Mark fiasco, with some people still complaining about it YEARS later and in some cases talking about how it 'ruined the show'. Its also the fact that the font is routinely misused. (And this is also kind of because I'm hoping Season 9 features Thorax again at one point. Arial is worse than Helvetica but nothing compares to Comic Sans. I saw some pictures of the 'That's None Of My Business' meme, featuring Kermit drinking tea while sarcastically commenting on disrespectful remarks or insults, and remembering this one scene from Triple Threat where Thorax the King Cinnamon Bun drinks tea, a thought popped into my mind - and Thorax is another loveable green kind hearted creature, so I decided to give it a go, where Thorax dismisses the people who are still ranting about the changing Changeling designs three years after it happened. While I'm currently drawing some future pictures, I decided to upload a meme picture to take up the time.
